How YOU Can Help With Hurricane Sandy

How YOU Can Help With Hurricane Sandy

Hi! The Yummygal here. You know how I love my beloved State Of New Jersey, our people and beauty. I mean that is truly what my blog is about and my large-scale exploration of the area. I’m trying my best to get the word out there on how we can come together and assist those in need.

In New York and New Jersey, there is a huge collaborative effort going on.

Here is some information below if you’d like to help!
If you would like to volunteer your time, food, services, etc.

This is a wonderful NY operation that needs volunteers to assist with those displaced. If you can offer food or any items, or just yourself, it is very well-needed.

Bad News For Seaside Heights ***SEASIDE HEIGHTS UPDATE — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY*** Direct from the Borough’s website: “UPDATE – 11/3/12 — The latest word from NJ Natural Gas is that the entire gas distribution system on the barrier island has been compromised. They anticipate 6-8 months before Seaside will have gas available. Even though these estimates are preliminary, we wanted you to know now for your long-term planning. We are coordinating with many municipalities and other agencies to allow property owners access to their properties as soon as possible. We are hopeful to have some plan and schedule for allowing people over by the end of next week. In the meanwhile, due to the fact that 80-90% of all properties in Seaside Heights have sustained some type of damage, we suggest you contact FEMA right away. Call (800) 621-3362(FEMA), give your name and property information to receive a claim number. Take care, and we will keep you posted.”
