Bolongo Bay Beach Resort

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, St. Thomas USVI

A Rocking Resort I must say!

I am going to add a little more adventure and fun to this blog to give some insight on traveling to exotic and lovely destinations. The virgin islands are my favorite. I have been to every of the islands and have lost count how many times. I have stayed in resorts to villas. It truly depends on what you are looking for amenities and such. Here is my first travel review. Getting all giddy inside.

At night on the beach at Bolongo Bay

About a year and a half ago. I ventured on a getaway to Bolongo Bay Resort in St. Thomas. Now, don’t expect a great entryway, gold floors, the finest of linens. However, expect great service, friendly staff, a great fun atmosphere for the entire family. It is in a great location. Close to the shops downtown, but far enough away and close to red hook which is near the ferry to St. John (a must to at least visit for a day). There are great restaurants and my favorite bar, Duffy’s Love Shack. Which I will post/talk about in future editions.

My sexy pirate friend and Bolongo Bay

Every visit to Bolongo I have seen a couple getting married on the beach, truly romantic. There are volleyball nets, palm trees, a few restaurants (my favorite is Iggies), families with kids, it’s a true laid back experience. The beach is cute. Not the most beautiful on the island. A bit Rocky. However, most days If you get a chance, you may find yourself the only person on the beach. With a drink from the poolside bar, it will be like heaven. Watching the cruise ships coming into the harbor. There’s a little shack on the beach for fun little activities, such as parasailing, paddle boats, etc etc.

Bolongo also has a catamaran and diving instruction for certification. A sunset sail on their catamaran is the ultimate in relaxation and beauty and is a MUST to experience

The rooms are right on the water, practically. Not the Ritz Carlton, However, they are clean, comfy, and cool (ac). You are not going to be spending any time in your room day through night trust me.

It is by far the best resort on the island for the TRUE Caribbean feel. I also like that it is owned by a family and not some bigwig corporate hotel. A big plus in my book.

I look forward to returning again and again, as I already have!!
