The Coolest House On Route 9

I can’t tell you how many times I have passed this cool looking house on my way to Tuckerton!  Every single time I drive by it, I have to pull over and check out this site.  I’ve posted it the Facebook page before and figured I’d update the blog with some more recent photographs. This home sits on US. Route 9 in the New Gretna/Tuckerton area (the property has a Tuckerton mailing address.)  It’s been featured in just about every publication out there in regards to New Jersey.. even Weird NJ… and you can definitely see why.  The owners have put in a lot of love and work into this statues.  It’s clear as day! And I absolutely love it… All of it!  This is what makes New Jersey!!!  We are an eclectic, yet f, bunch of people!

I’m not going to get into detail about this house because you can find it all over the internet, but I just wanted to share… before it is too late!  Read below in why!

Awesome... just awesome!

Awesome… just awesome!

True saying!

Too cool for words.

Too cool for words.

The property itself goes back to the 1800s and was owned by a Benjamin Franklin Headley and was a working farm. When this property was purchased by the current owners, it needed a lot of love as it was abandoned for a few decades… and love it received. She was fixed up to thrive again!  It’s now owned by a man named, Byung Taek Kim.  This was purchased to be his summer home and he has renovated it ever since!  Unfortunately, the property is now up for sale and the listing can be found here http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/5847-Route-9-Tuckerton-NJ-08087/69520694_zpid/.  The listing offers a cool insight of the interior grounds.  They are asking a nice hunk of change, but considering it is the shore area and around 50 acres, it’s actually a pretty good steal.

Come on... this plan is just cool!

Come on… this plane is just cool!

Kaboom!

I can only imagine how many accidents have occurred in front of this magical house in the last 5 years. Every time that I venture here, there’s always something new that greets you out front!  It’s a spectacle and a very exciting thing to see!!! Check it out!! Who knows? The new owners may get rid of these awesome-looking statues, so enjoy them while you can!!! I also can’t imagine how much these must-have cost!!!  However, they’ve always been a pure joy for me to look at!  I’m sure others feel the same way I do!

Go check out the property before this attraction is gone!

I have a ton more places to see, in the Tuckerton area, that I will have up here soon!

Until our next adventure, my friends!

  1. I remember when this house was built in the early 1980’s. I was living nearby and passed the site regularly. It was built by a man who had owned land in Atlantic City – with a bar business I believe – that he sold to one of the casino hotel companies. The home had beautiful landscaping that I watched mature over the years, including a line of trees along the front wall, and was a nice property. The separate smaller building in the rear of the property was a garage for his helicopter.

  2. I love this – I keep threatening my wife with one of those 20 foot tall horse sculptures like at PK Chang’s restaurant in the back yard. This takes that dream to the next level.

  3. Entertaining, as always! Look forward to your emails. I also purchased your beautiful Salem County book and am thoroughly enjoying every page!! Nice work, keep it coming!!
